Household Hazardous Waste Disposal | Republic Services

There are a few drop off locations for HAZMAT. If the amount of paint left in the can is less than a quarter of the volume of the can, consider opening the lid and allowing the paint to dry out--if there is too much paint, this isn't a practical method.

That's what I do if the can is almost empty...open it...let it dry, then throw it in the trash.

Forgot the product name, but you can buy small pouches of power from Home Depot that allows you to safely dispose of used paint. Turn the paint into a solid.

Per this Nevada dot gov website, latex paint can be dried out. When it's dry, the paint and the can can go right in the trash.

I take some newspaper and pour the paint onto it to let it dry.
