The changing of seasons, cooler temperatures, pleasant nights...thou Vegas doesn't really experience the colors of Fall...to each of us, the changing of seasons each holds a special meaning. I have a bit of a riddle for some of the "old timers" here about an event occurring back in the day, September 17,1998...happening right here in Sin City. Headlines captivated the news media for months...a very intriguing story as it contained all the elements of the perfect mystery...money, power, sex, drugs and death. It literally captivated an entire community.

Not a September passes, but I can't help but allow my long memory of this town to take me back to that time and place. I wonder how many "old timers" remember that event...and in all actuality it really wasn't all that long ago (only 18 years)....hardly ancient history...

Without cheating by googling, are you referring to the dead girl found stuffed in the ceiling tiles at the Del Mar motel? After she was there with golden boy billionaire?

Oh God. You are referring to one even worse, aren't you? But that didn't happen in Las Vegas. It happened in that shady graveyard for children we used to call Stateline.

I don't mean to minimize any of those you referenced, they were all tragic...this particular incident to which I refer...changed the landscape per se !
