A young woman was at the "TI" and visited a party with her friend, she was then able to stagger through the casino, enter wrong areas of the casino and told by employees that she couldn't be in that particular area, she was observed falling against the walls trying to make her way to the top floor of the parking garage. She was then observed by the "bike patrol" security, who was apprised of her condition, took several minutes to find her keys and get into her vehicle. The "bike" officer asked dispatch if he should detain her and the answer was, NEGATIVE. With that she sped down the ramps and onto spring mountain road, running the red light and narrowly missing several cars, then onto the freeway where she was, within 20 minutes, pronounced dead from an accident which should have never taken place.

This should have never taken place, what poor judgement by those involved.

Then SHE should not have driven drunk. Just glad she didn't take anyone else with her.

Security guards have no authority to detain people.

If what you report is true, then yes, I think that the hotel should have offered her a room to sleep it off. However if she refused, their only option at that point would be to call Metro, keep an eye on her and hope that they arrive before she takes off and kills herself or worse, others.

What's your source for this? News report? Personal observation? Friend of a friend?

Only if it has some of those yummy butterscotch chips. In that case, yes. Otherwise, no thank you.

First off, I call shenanigans. Please post the news article or police report documenting the story. Also, if they detained her they would basically have to deny access to every parking garage on the strip on a Friday and Saturday nights because everyone is driving with alcohol in their system to varying degrees. No need to get all MAADD and sanctimonious about it. Keep yourself and the ones you care about off the roads at those times and let those who make those decisions deal with the consequences. Observer 53 please close this thread. Were done here.
