I know it's kind of a "sketchy" area right now but are there safe areas to considering renting in the arts district? Any particular complexes?It's been almost a year since I moved here from Boston and am loving it!

I don't know. What kind of rates are they charging?
Beyond some ecclectic taste for the bizarre it is not a nice place to stay. You'd have to be pretty desperate to stay down that way.
But, it might be exciting too!

It's the area from around east Fremont going towards the Stratosphere. The City of Las Vegas is promoting it. Mainly through First Friday and some other small events.
It may not be much of an "arts district" compared to most large cities but it's trying to get there one small step at a time. I'd love to live there and really see it happening.
Unfortunately though it really isn't a very good area at all. But I was hoping someone could recommend someplace that is a bit more ready for the eclectics to move in.

I like that area. It's called 'Naked City'. I heard it got that nickname because all the showgirls used to live in that area and frequently did some nude sunning.

There are still old homes tucked in between the law offices in Downtown Las Vegas. Search around the area of the Mormon compound. The high rises Dowtown is also an option.
