Show's over for Liberace Museum in Vegas - CNN.com

It's somehow sad that such an important part of Las Vegas history just slips away almost unnoticed. I understand that Liberace may not be everyone's taste, but I think it's just another example of how we are losing touch with our national culture.
The idea that everything we see or hear must always be "new and fresh" is disturbing. Liberace was a great example of a performer who valued and respected his fans unlike many of the spoiled brats who call themselves "stars" nowadays.
I hope the museum finds a benefactor and is able to re-establish itself, perhaps in a more convenient location.
Just my two cents.

It is sad, but it is old news and has already been discussed:

Even though this has been discussed before, your right it is sad that they couldn't have put the museum in one of the casino's on the strip or even a downtown casino.

How sad!! Among other memories of that great musician, my son's 2004 graduating class had their prom there! I thought it was a pretty cool place for such an event.

My wife and I went there today for the first time. Figured after 30 years it was about time since it's closing tomorrow. It was more sad than we thought it would be. I'd think it could be moved to a hotel, and I guess they are going to be looking for a new location. My wife suggested that someone open a museum that includes memorabilia of all the famous old stars of the Strip. Not a bad idea.

There was a guy there today that came from England because it was on his bucket list to play Liberace's piano. They let him play and it sounded like Liberace playing. Plus the guy looked a little like him.

Liberace is supposed to haunt Carluccio's Tivoli Gardens. I've always heard it was good and wanted to try it, so we ate there for the first time also. Now I can see why he'd haunt them. To punish them for ruining his restaurant. Until today I thought I'd never met a meal I didn't like. That was some of the worst food I've ever tasted, and the service was pretty bad too.
