My husband and I are looking to move from far south (almost Seymour) Knox to downtown. We are interested in funky downtown apartments, preferably in older buildings--none of this pool and tennis court on the premises stuff! I have had alot of trouble finding any information online. I regularly check Craigslist and find nothing. While driving around just north of downtown, I came across a great looking building and the sign said Olde Towne Apartments. I called the number but was unable to get through and can't find any information at all. Please--can anyone help us?

Don't know about old towne but Kendrick & Co. manages some buildings around the corner. Give them a call on monday. Also Dewhirst will have rentals in downtown proper. Check the metropulse as well.

Good Luck. I am sure you have your reasons for wanting to rent there. And I hope you have plenty of money. Most are about as energy efficient as rooms with mosquito netting for walls.

Smile Olde Towne Apartment resident

I currently live at Olde Towne apartments. There are several different types of apartments. I have an efficiency/studio. Water and sewage is furnished, but not electricity. Efficiencies are 275 (that's what I have). My friend upstairs has a one bedroom (has a living room and a bedroom). They are 375. They all have kitchens and bathrooms. Moderator cut: cut It is around the UT campus area. If you have any other questions, just ask.

And for more options, pick up a copy of MetroPulse, the free weekly. You can look at it online but the ads are more user friendly in the actual paper.
MetroPulse is a major proponent of downtown, redevelopment, "funky" apartments and such. It's the best place to look.

Looks like a post from January, by chance are you still processing or already made a move? Are you looking to purchase or rent? There are many fantastic lofts at the Candy Factory, Commerce Building, Cityview at Riverwalk, Market Square Lofts, etc. These can be a bit pricey, but very nice and refurbished (Cityview brand new). Sterchi Lofts are also quite popular, and a bit less expensive. Depending on your budget, and buy vs rent, there are alot of options in the ever updating downtown area, away from the buzz of UT. Dewhirst Properties has a majority of the downtown options, and would have either option you would be looking for. Best of luck!

Folks, this thread was resurrected by someone advertising. That post has been deleted. As for the OP, they have not logged back in here since the date of the original post.
