Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows of any virtual online schools for Garden City high school kids. My understanding is that new virtual schools are being created for students to attend. Do you know of any good ones? And won't this drop the enrollment in the Garden City school district. I'm just trying to get some more info on this. Any responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not sure of Garden City itself but I know the Basehor-Linwood school district offers virtual classrooms for anybody in KS prek-12th grade regardless of actual district they live in. I know a few families that do this and are very happy with the system as well as the cost for it. I believe it's $50/yr/student and that provides all the text books, work, tests, and contact with the teachers.

I appreciate the reply. However, I'm interested in hearing more about virtual (online) schools for Garden City kids. Does anybody know the names of these virtual schools? Do any of you send your kids to them? What's the verdict on them? I'd love to see some discussion on this topic. Also, if any of you have a son or daughter who attends a virtual school and you live in Garden City or Holcomb, please email me: asu.mjv.2010@gmail.com I'd love to pick your brain. Thanks!

I have known several people in town to enroll in the online school out of Mullinville, Kansas. When they finally lost too many kids to stay open they went online and its fairly popular as far as I can tell.
