Huh? Where's Palm Ave? I'm not sure I've ever seen that exit along I-95.

Here's the quote:

#48, I-95, Jacksonville
Weekly hours of bottleneck congestion: 45
Worst bottleneck: Northbound, Palm Ave
Length of worst bottleneck: .57 mi
Weekly hours of congestion on worst bottleneck: 10
Speed of worst bottleneck when congested: 21.5 mph
Commuter Buzz: "There is a lot of congestion coming out of Clay County," Joe Mobley, vice president of The Fiorentino Group, told the Jacksonville Business Journal in June 2009. "The First Coast Outer Beltway could provide another option for people to get to work."

I think the Palm Avenue reference is I95 on The Southbank where the crossovers are (where it all merges then splits again). I did that commute twice last week during normal rush hour morning and had zero problems.

And why would the Clay county congestion have no effect until it reaches The Southbank?? Is the Buckman Bridge smooth sailing, no congestion??

I'd hardly be suprised if The Fiorentino Group has a vested interest in that beltway...hmm.

95 Northbound into Downtown area is the WORST? What does that make of 17 and Blanding exits?!
Is that group going to build a beltway for out of town traveler to bypass JAX? Hey that's a great idea

(ha). It's absurd that that small stretch would included in that list.

100% absurd.

You can throw ou everything that the study says now if #48 is any indication.

I know alot of people complain, but honestly it's not THAT bad as compared to other places I have lived.

Oahu, Hawaii has TERRIBLE traffic all the time.....and that one mentioned in that article is a nightmare all the time...you always come to a standstill.......to get into Honolulu there is really only a few ways in and out and pretty much everyone works in Honolulu/Waikiki and lives elsewhere....so not fun.

I do avoid Blanding alot. We've found several back routes to get to the places we need to get to. I rarely drive on Blanding.......
