My family and I are driving to St Augustine the night before Thanksgiving and leaving the day after. What will be open that day? Any special Thanksgiving events going on?

Nights of Lights (Free)
Nov 17, 2012 - Jan 31, 2013

All Day
Once a year the Nation's Oldest City is bathed from top to bottom in the ethereal glow of more than two million white lights. Stitching together the eaves of ancient buildings, flowing over Spanish tile roofs and even the Bridge of Lions, our annual Nights of Lights festivities are not to be missed.

You can enjoy the city's holiday spirit on foot or take a romantic carriage ride beneath the arms of ancient oaks twinkling with light. Families will enjoy singing carols on one of the trolley trains that runs through the town during Nights of Lights.

Festivities begin with the Night of Illumination on Nov. 17th (Saturday before Thanksgiving) and continue through the end of January. Come for a visit and experience the Oldest City's greatest attraction for yourself!

Columbia Restaurant is downtown St Aug is open on Thanksgiving. They have a "traditional" TG meal and you can also order off the (delicious) regular menu. Make reservations if you plan to go though...they do fill up.

And the lights are fun too. I think both train companies offer night trips around the city to see the lights.
