Can you name me a number of things to do in Houston? Particularly things that are cheap? I have family coming over from Colorado. They travel the country in an RV going to kayaking competitions. Any help would be much appreciated.

Discovery green has a fall concert series running on Thursdays that's free. You can kayak the various bayou on your own or take a tour with the bayou shuttle. There is always Galveston, the world class museums (like 6 of them), film at the mfa, trip through west 19th in the heights

Here's a good website for cheap things to do around the city: Houston On The Cheap | daily deals, free weekend fun, free summer fun, cheap eats

Is there anything in particular they like to do? And when is this exactly? This fall? Winter?

Check into artist boat kayak tours in Galveston. This summer we were able to arrange a kayak tour for $10pp by completing a survey.
