but it is most definitely the next bellaire. that doesnt equate to a good deal across the board
There are zero apartments in Oak Forest. I also have never seen one in Garden Oaks. There is a little mixed commercial on the edges. There are some apartments on the edges too. Inside the neighborhoods it is pure houses. I have scoured both neighborhoods a ton. There is no real transition. The only transition is old white people with old small houses to young white people with young kids. I just checked google maps. There is not one apartment complex in both neighborhoods. It might not be the next Bellaire, but it is as close as there ever will be.

I have a home in Shepherd Park Plaza that leases for 2000 a month. It takes 15 minutes to drive to downtown Houston.

Appreciate all the feedback. We put an offer in on a house this afternoon. Now we just need to sell the current one.

Lived here in OF for almost 5 years - moved from Kingwood also. Love the neighborhood! PM me if you have any questions about making the transition. It's a great place for many reasons and you'll love being close to EVERYTHING!

Oak Forest here. Me and my girl are a mid 20's couple(Young Professionals) and love it here. Very peaceful.
