I figured it might work out well because our kids are getting older and do most of their own laundry. Therefore, it is upstairs and usable by everyone. Other option is in the master closet, but then the kids would have to walk through our room to do laundry.
is their bathroom accessable to any other wall where you could open it up and and put on some closet doors? or is there a linen closet up there that can be turned into a laundry closet?
my laundry is upstairs in the hall. it is a new build, but it is literally 2 doors that open up. you dont step inside a room--its just a closet.

Some of the higher end homes have several laundry rooms. If you have the space why not put machines in both locations?
