Pens are looking hot and I wouldn't be surprised to see Crosby lifting the Cup soon.
Good on the Canes for getting to this point after coming close enough to missing the playoffs altogether. What Carolina needs is another consistent scorer besides Eric Staal, and perhaps beefing up the defense. Ward can't stop everything, as was evident here.
I agree with what you say here, jfre. No one really gave us a chance to compete with the Devils, except maybe for Barry Melrose, but we got past them and the big bad Bruins to get to the ECF. Some fun times in Raleigh last night even though we lost, still saw Hurricane car flags and even people were chanting "Let's go Canes" at the RBC after the game had ended. Hopefully with the profit we made this season, we can keep and sign guys who will help us in becoming a Cup-cailbar team for years to come.
About the Pens, well they just played better than us. I actually used to like them back in the '90's. Now though, not so much.
Does anyone know when tickets go on sale? We're planning to fly to Detroit for Game 5 (my husband is a Wings fan, and I'm a Pens fan, so we may end up divorced if these teams keep dominating the Cup Finals!).
Sidenote: we went to the Eastern Conference winner last night... games in Carolina are SO different from games in Detroit, and it's not just the atmosphere (I do miss the concrete cavern of the Joe). Fans were screaming every time the Canes touched the puck, it was funny to see how they reacted. I'm not sure if hockey is still "new" there, but we laughed about it afterwards.

That makes your marriage more fun! Stick with him.
As for tickets, well, Detroit still has to beat Chicago first. Don't worry, they will.
Oh well. THe Hawks did better against DET than I originally thought. 3 OT games out of the series isnt too bad. Too bad tonight's OT effort was weak, and a bad bounce led to a goal by DET, I dont fault Huet on that one.
Anways, congrats to the Wings. Good luck with the Pens. Im done with hockey for the year, I have negative interest in this year's Cup Finals. lol
