I just started going to a new Hairstylist (was trying to follow another Hairstylist- who never started working there! but never contacted me to tell me so) Turned out to be a good thing that I still showed up as this lady did a wonderful job on my hair- also showed me that the other girl- hadn't cut my hair right/uneven in some places.
Anyway her Haircut price is $55- sounds so high to me- as was paying $40 before. But I know you are still soppose to tip on top of that. What is a fair tip for that? I gave her $10- hope that was okay.
Also what is a fair tip- when the price is $150? For Haircut/Highlight appt she charges $150.

Thanks so much.
I usually tip around 20% (but I will say my haircuts are less expensive than yours, but I would still tip up to 20% anyway).
Now I am feeling guility. Went today for a color and blow out. (I dont go too often- I color my hair myself, but every 3 months or so I get it done professionally) Very very curly hair. I was very pleased, it came to $75 which was a bit more than I expected, but I was pleased. I gave her $12 ..I was almost going to give $20 but the price seemed higher than I expected (seems whenever I go, to the same place, the prices vary). Now I am feeling like I might have been cheap..........oh well. I guess when/if I go back, I will be generous.........
As others have said, 20% is the right amount. I also give a Christmas gift.
