Staples closing 225 stores. Wonder if any upstate stores will be affected. Can't seem to find a closing list yet. I would hate to see the DT store close at McBee Station. However as always it would open an opportunity for another retailer.

I wonder if their competitor Office Depot/OfficeMax will close stores now that its merger was approved. I will not be surprised to see the Taylors location close after reducing its size in half.

I am sure they signed a long term lease for that spot considering all of the work that was done on the outside and inside. I doubt this one will close.

There are factors and signs for a store closing. Reducing the size of the store and reducing its inventory are two of them. I have been inside the store several times and there were hardly any customers in there.

I was told by a manager at the Harbor Freight months ago that they were going to be putting a store in Greer where the Staples is. With the information that they are closing a bunch of stores, makes me think HF will take over that store??

If their stores are about 35,000 to 40,000 square feet, Harbor Freight Tools can move into the former Food Lion on West Wade Hampton Boulevard.

I can see them in the Staples moreso than in the former FL. Mgr did say where Staples was.
