opening retail store (Asheville, Boone, Mebane: rent, budget, money)

Going to open retail store. Want to locate in historic downtown area, where people take "day" trips, or tourists area.

Don't want anything by the coast. Looking for NC, SC, TN or GA.

Depends on your budget, what you're selling, who your cliente is, etc. You need to have more info to really give an educated answer.

Dang!!! If I had the money I'd grab the old Whites' Furniture building in Mebane, turn it into artists studios, add a kiln and rent the studios out fairly cheap for artists and/or musicians. It is a whole lot of space going to waste.
