The Phoenix Metro Area (Maricopa County), known as The Valley, is the absolute worst in the country and the worst compared to other places I've lived: Indianapolis, Detroit and Washington DC. The Phoenix area has next to nothing to do unless you like hiking or going up to the mountains. The jobs are extremely scant, even in 'good' times. Housing costs are grossly over-inflated compared to incomes in the area. The air is awful. The schools are awful. The heat is awful. Illigal immigration gone ammock. The people generall suck and have inflated egos and little minds. The people are materialistic. Taxes are high. And everything looks the same; no architectural diversity at all. Phoenix is highly highly over-rated as a place to live. Trust me on that.
I won't name a specific city, because one persons hell is anothers paradise. I absolutely detest sprawl, but many city cores are quite nice. But cities I personally don't like lack character, soul, history, density, and unique geographic features etc.
You have obviously never been to Cleveland's METRO. It's one of the safest and VERY nice. Actually, outside of the eastside of Cleveland, Cleveland itself is cool like Ohio City, Tremont, Bratenahl, Clifton, or Westpark areas.
Here is one of my fave areas, take a stroll on streetview. There are literally about 20 suburbs just like this. Unique charm to them..

LOL Well I'm from here. I just wish we were up to date with transportation and all since the Metro is so spread out. And with so many city governments, its very difficult for Orlando to do anything because it must be voted on. We have a separated Metro so in my opinions it is the worst. Well in Florida anyway.
