You might have given them too much nitrogen fertilizer. That will promote lots of leafy growth but I stuck with composted cow manure and Toma Tone and only used a stronger garden fertilizer once when I first planted them. I did use epsom salts( to prevent blossom end rot , not sure if I even had since I've never had that problem) when I planted them. I added Garden tone fertilizer about midway after they started producing ripe fruit.
I noticed that many of the later flowers failed to set and just withered, I am almost certain that was due to the heat we had. If its 90 degrees or higher the tomato blossoms will fail. Was it hot like that where you are? The only exception was the sun sugar cherry tomato plant that seemed to like the heat and went crazy with tomatoes.
They may be in need of pollenation, especially if it's hot and there are no insects to pollenate. You can get bottles of pollenators at most Garden Centers. I use it all the time and it helps more than double my tomato production.
I just managed to get some bloom set spray and going to start trying it out. It's supposed to be good for ALL vegetable blooms, not just toms, so we'll see.
looks like ours are starting to produce again. I have picked a few that rotted in places before I could even use them. I think the heat has done so much damange. Actually I am starting to pick them before they get completely ripe. It seems to work better.
OP, hopefully you will still get some decent fruit.
I got some blossom set spray to use on my plants. I can't say the tomatoes are doing any better yet but my stawberries are producing more fruit, the chiles and the cucumber look better. This has been one strange year. The better boy plants are beautiful and tall. Off of two plants I have one tomato. The brandywine looks greener now but still no tomatoes. The roma tomatoes have produced some fruit but not enough to jump up and down about. I am not the only one having these troubles. My next door neighbors tomatoes are doing about as well. I went to the farmers market a couple of weeks ago and we saw one person selling tomatoes and she wanted $3 a pound for them. OUCH!!
Mine are disappointing too. The plants grew very big and healthy and put out plenty of flowers, but no tomatoes. I fertilized with Miracle Grow for tomatoes, so I assume they got the correct nutrition. The only thing I got a big crop of was those gross tomato hornworms.
