It's the GT PP with more hp (and is an intake and axle-back away from 500 hp!), and the stronger 6 speed manual from the GT350, as well as many other upgrades that would cost you more than the car's price to add to the GT. As for handling, the Mach 1 will ride on standard MagneRide dampers with a unique calibration. Ford also stiffened the steering I-shaft, added stiffer sway bars and front springs, included the GT350’s front and rear subframe and its stiffer bushings, and rounded out the upgrades with the GT500’s rear toe link. The Mustang GT Performance Pack Level 2 donated its brake booster for use in the Mach 1, and it will also get a unique electronic power steering calibration.
Much more track ready than the Bullitt or GT, but no as hardcore as the GT350. A perfect blend of the two levels of Mustang. The Tremec 6 speed is worth the price of the upgrade all by itself, vs the Getrag that is in the GT and Bullitt (and is fairly weak and has many complaints going on about it). This is without question the Mustang to get now, all things considered.
So, bigger and slower than the current car and the hardest Mustang to see out of... Yeah, not so much. How much hp did that old thing put out? And remember that was SAE Gross not SAE Net...

Why did they make the front end so ugly?? (It's not only Mustangs, it's most contemporary cars --
weird-looking headlights, multiple grill openings that don't line up with each other, etc. Ick.)

Kinda disappointed in it. Seems like just a sticker package really.
The older Mach1's and the last 2003-2004 Mach 1 at least had mechanical differences under the hood to make them fit perfectly between the GT and the Cobra at the time.
This one just seems like carbon copy of the Bullitt with some different graphics. At least they ditched the MT-82 and went with the Tremec found in the GT350.

The Tremec makes it much more than a sticker package by itself, assuming of course all the other GT's don't get that transmission. If they do, it'll be more of a PP3 package since it's supposed to have some more cooling than the PP2.
Could probably be a good weekend track car option for those who can't quite justify the GT350 cost.
