Orange County Mayor Demmings is sidestepping the state and opening up vaccines to those age 40+ beginning Monday at the Orange County Convention Center.

Orange County residency is not required.

How amazing was DeSantis trumplicans panel today - they actually said that schools should be open with no restrictions and no masks...

Are these guys from another planet? My sister has been in a school with 100% masks INSIDE the entire time and the kids gon't care AT ALL about it.

They take em off outside and at lunch outside and it's not even a big deal. Yet DeSantis and his panel give not ONE CRAP about enabling the anti maskers to say "No kids need masks" They also said that kids don't spread covid..

Really??

The FDOE reports that show that about 10% of high school students in my county district have tested positive for covid must be a fake then because DeSantis said school kids could never get the disease.

Please cite your source for this comment. I do recall him saying school-aged kids have an extremely low death rate from covid-19, but I don't recall him saying "they could never get the disease".

Please enlighten me if I missed it. I'll be looking for your documentation.

Florida's deaths-per-million residents ranks 28th, with 25th being average, so Florida is safer than average, even though Florida has the 2nd most vulnerable population; due to the age of its residents.

Florida's a large, & heavily populated state, yet performed better than many smaller, & far less populated states like: NJ, MA, RI, CT, MI, & even Delaware.

Florida did a great job at protecting our Seniors particularly, & we did it w/o any state income tax to fund it!

Anyone targeting Florida, or its politicians, for Florida's above average Covid results, are pushing their own agenda...one that is not based in science.

Stop ignoring science, and start acknowleging Florida's fine C-19 results.

11 kids in grade-school died from complications of COVID-19 yesterday. That's just a one-day total for the state of Florida.

39 non-pediatric deaths from complications of COVID-19 were confirmed for yesterday as well. For the state of Florida.

6900 confirmed positive tested cases of COVID-19 were reported yesterday for the state of Florida.

Compared to February, reported deaths, reported hospitalizations, and reported confirmed tested cases are UP in April, in the state of Florida.

This is all according to the dashboard and the Department of Health.

I'm basing my opinions on science. I got my first vaccine. I'll continue to wear a mask when I'm inside other peoples' buildings, social distance, and wash my hands.

DeSantis has done an excellent job and the politicians in FL have all said so in a very bi partisan way.

Congrats to FL for having politicians reach across party lines to actually DO something. Unlike our nations congress.

This is the best discussion I have read about the vaccines. It is a transcript. Extremely important to understand what the vaccines are all about. I am not making a judgement for you, but I am making my decision about the vaccine for me. Now this is a little long, but any 8th grader can understand the science.
