The dress style is called a "balloon hem." By coincidence, my wife pointed them out to me last weekend as being something current and trendy she didn't like.
Personally, I don't think you'd look slutty in either outfit. That's a pretty hostile put down to say about someone. If you're young and pretty and you got the goods - go for it! If you're not slutty, and you've said you're not, then what you wear won't change that. It's just fashion.
Some people think they're the morality police and want you to put a bag over your head or wear a burka and veil, like in Iraq. You wouldn't wear those outfits to your kid's school parent-teacher night, right?
If you're young and pretty, do what you think is appropriate for you, your city, age group, and where this date will take place. There's plenty of time left to be old and sour and dress like a nun.
I say neither to the two outfits posted- revealing to much I think.
How about wearing something along these lines?
I think something like this is cute and flattering yet doesn't show to much skin and would look super cute with a pair of red heels.

I kind of agree here....if you got the body for it, why not? Would I wear that on a first date? No - I'd feel self conscious and I'm trying to figure out how that top stays on But if it will make you feel good about yourself, go for it.
If my husband saw that website he'd be ordering stuff for me. He loves to see me in that kind of outfit and if it's just him and I out on the town, I do dress much more "out there".

She's 27 and a big-city girl, and though I like the dress (I'm 50), I don't think it's sexy. She has her whole life to wear that dress. Let her be fun and fashionable, flirty and sexy for 5 minutes while she's young and has the body for it.

It is very cute and for a normal date I might consider it but I want to do something extraordinary – there is plenty of normal in life.

I am thinking of wearing more classy pants . I have a pair that looks like this: Alice + Olivia Eric Front Pleat Wide Leg Pant - shopbop.com
I think that will look classier and be a contrast with the top – classy professional bottom, hot sexy top.
I also thought about wearing a black and white crop jacket over my white top.
It ends a little bit above my belly button and I show still some skin in front. In the back it comes low enough and I won’t show any skin. It has two buttons and even when unbuttoned it stays almost closed. (sorry have no picture)
This way I can vary the sexyness
But as I said still thinking
I have a little time tomorrow so I’ll look around.
Definitely the second pants. The first two outfits scream desparate and no confidence. As other posters have said, the sexy and confidence has to come from inside, not from what you wear.
One more question:
do you think I have to wear double sided tape?
Any advice on that. I don't want the tape to be noticed.
