I keep seeing ads for Western Rise men's pants. They seem to be a cross between athletic and dress pants. The material looks light and stretchy, and they've supposed to be waterproof and stain resistant.
Has anybody had a pair? What are the pros and cons of these pants, or that overall style of pants?
They look like workout pants. At $149, I don’t think my husband will be getting a pair.
That's pretty expensive. The funniest part of the ad for me was when the guy was saying that he hates washing clothes and and implied that he wore them for days in a row. Wouldn't they being to smell bad after a while of being worn through all sorts of physical activity and not being washed?
Maybe that's not the right term, but they're supposed to be better looking than workout pants, and presentable to wear to work (with casual dress) or out for a social gathering. They're marketed as a more comfortable and versatile alternative to jeans.

Please, they are an updated version of the good ol' LL Bean recreational pants. One of our contractors wears them - they look like hiking gear.
I picked up something similar for my son to wear at his landscaping job. Lighter than jeans and they dry faster. I got them at Target for less than $30. They were even the same color as the link.
