I don't mind if people spritz a couple of sprays if it's a nice perfume and if you could smell them a few feet away. Unfortunately, not everybody appreciates certain scent and I had a bad experience I could smell a person a good 15-20 feet away and the perfume smelled orange juice left out for couple of years so it's best to keep it light.
I use to do the spray in front step in and swirl thing but that's a tad too light. Now I just spray a feet in front and hold out my wrists so the mist could land on my pulse points.
But, IMO: no cologne needed.
The smell of a man is quite enough, thanks....and it is thought to highly influence physical attraction women feel towards someone of the opposite sex...
Don't cover up nature's pheromones, a man's NATURAL cologne!

Ok, I can go with that, but they have to start clean. I kind of like the smell of a man. I also like to smell one who works. Sweat, mechanical smells tell me you are right down my ally, but I do not want them to smell of stale body smells as if they have not taken a bath in several days. There is a difference.
This topic concerns men's application of cologne. I have a few questions since I don't know how to go about it. Feel free to chime in, regardless of your gender.
How much is generally a good idea to put on? Besides the sides of the neck, are there any other areas to apply the scent? Is cologne a good idea at all or do you ladies find it too overpowering, or does it depend on the brand?

I spray on my hands, chest and neck. Not too much depending on the brand. I wear the lighter, ocean-scented colognes a bit more liberally than I would a heavier, muskier one.

I love men's cologne! Some smell better than women's because they tend to be light and citrusy.
I know a guy who always smells good. He told me he sprays a bit of cologne on his clothes.
For my guy, I like it when I get a whiff of his cologne on his neck or chin. If you're not wearing aftershave, behind the ears works just fine. It just makes me inch closer to him or cover him in kisses! Well, you know how guys react to that, so what's next is up to your imagination...
You'll want to draw them to that spot below the ears, the pulse points. I guess those pulses do something magical to couples.

Don't wear it. It stinks and screams trying to hard. I can't stand when a guy walks by and I can smell the perfume, or worse, he sits near me and I can't get away from it. Really - skip it. Only in perfume ads do hot chicks like it.
I apply a couple sprays on the front of my neck. I also use a body lotion for an aftershave (which happens to be the same scent as the cologne) to keep my skin moist and to reinforce the cologne. From my experience, moist skin holds a fragrance much longer than dry skin.
Less is more. You don't want to smell like you bathed in it. There is nothing worse than the cologne/perfume trail.

Wrists, if you're going for direct application. Otherwise, do three ceiling-to-floor spritzes and walk through, that's plenty.

It really depends on the scent, moreso than the brand. Obviously, cheap cologne will never smell good, but I also think that musks stink. I, personally, like a cleaner or earthier scent.
Less is def more-people shouldn't smell your cologne unless they are close enough to kiss you.You can always add more later.
