I'm a fan of Steakburger and any place that serves tamales.

If you don't get food from a food truck you're missing out. Delicious restaurant and Marta's downtown, nom nom

On aside note, bunuelos(a fried torilla with cinnamon and sugar) are a staple in my house now, with fried apples and melted cheddar on top.

In addition to the above mentioned:

- Any of the cowboy boot factories (not the outlets, the factories themselves).

- Franklin Mountains, especially if there is snow

- Fort Bliss Museum

- The Mission Train (combine with a visit to Cattleman's)

Just an update on this: my relatives came to town --stayed two nights; a short trip so most of it was family gatherings. Took them to Mesilla on a Saturday -- had lunch at the Double Eagle. Worked perfectly, and they enjoyed it. Luckily, they like Mexican food; we also had beautiful weather for their stay.

Also FYI, they had good things to say about the Hampton Inn and Suites - West (at Artcraft); said it was a pleasant, upgraded business class hotel.

Yes my go to are

Old mesilla, farmers markets, scenic drive sundays, wineries in la union, baseball games, then museums. Haven't done the tram. Don't forget casinos, especially while love racing and events like this month. I saw book of Mormon with out of towners.

Food is cattlemans for the real meal. Then casual hot and juicy, JDs, lupitas, l and j, kekes, peters german, lunchbox, casino buffet....

Golf. Butterfield, painted dunes, nmsu top 3.

Shouldn't it be places that are actually in El Paso? Old Mesilla and Cattleman's are in different cities and towns. Just my 2 cents.

Maybe because the op said in ep. But that's where I take out of towners.

I don't know if I'll like the tram because I hate heights.

yes, that's why I was initially reluctant to do Old Mesilla -- kind of cheating since it's not "in El Paso." But then, I don't technically live in El Paso anymore, either. Area attractions would have been a better descriptor.
