Not in my house... I'm the chef, doorman and all-around helpful person. I'd say they love me in varying amounts (and that was true of my two original puppies- they were too bonded to each other).
What matters to me is that *I* love *them*, and that's the best feeling.
I think it's very true. Another one I like says something like,
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog thinks I already am. Not sure who said it.
This is true even though you occasionally get the dirty looks for going away, putting a limit on treats, etc.
