Hello,
I am needing to get some information on this particular section of Detroit. If any one could provide me with that information that would be awesome and such a help as we are trying to keep this story authentic.

1. Are there any banks or atms at 7 mile & Wyoming? if so what is the name of the bank?
2. Seems as though all the buildings are two stories or smaller, if you were running from 7 mile & Wyoming where could you run within a 15 min distance where you could find taller abandoned buildings, like maybe a 3 stories, and what would that name of that street and area be?
3. What is the police precinct called for that area? What county is & mile & wyoming located in?

I have more questions but this would be a great start in helping to tailor this story?

Thanks so much
Sam

@Ztgatznabz28 thx so much for this information, question? Is there a particular street near 8 mile road that would have 3 story abandoned buildings or warehouses?

If it's a fictional movie you could just say anywhere and it wouldn't seem too wildly crazy to natives that there was an abandoned building pretty much anywhere in Detroit.

That being said, 8 Mile is one of the better preserved areas, so less blight/abandonment in general, though Zthat is right that that is where you would be more likely to find larger buildings, as it's more of a thriving corridor.

If you're looking for blight, they would head in the opposite direction, toward McNichols.

For the sake of realism, the vast majority of criminals would retreat back into the city after committing a crime, not run toward the suburbs.

But again if this is fictional you are probably overthinking it, just pick a corner and google map it to make sure it's conceivable that an abandoned builiding might be there.

The firstplace I thought of was Kingswood Hospital, then I wondered if it was still open...

Seriously? What kind of movie doesn't spring for you to actually take a look around on foot? Obviously not a good one.

You've got the internet, check Google Street View. Do a search of businesses around the intersection.

Personally, when I think of that intersection the thing I think of is getting jumped in the middle of the street on my way from school. Of no use for this thread but it's the reason the title got my attention.

1. There is a Bank of America about 3/4 of a mile to the west near the 7 Mile and Schaefer intersection
1a. There is a bank on 7 Mile just west of Livernois, which is about a mile to the east of 7 Mile and Wyoming

2. Very few commercial buildings were built to 3 stories height in Detroit neighborhoods, and there are few warehouses in that section of town. The nearest taller buildings would be 2 4-story apartment buildings/storefronts along McNichols at Third Street, and at Second Street, but that is about a 20 minute JOG from 7 Mile and Wyoming.

There is also a 4 story abandoned apartment building on Woodward near Nevada Street but that is farther away. You might find some abandoned taller warehouses on John R and 7 Mile Road.

3. Police Precinct is in Palmer Park, on 7 Mile west of Woodward Avenue. It is called the 12 Precinct. 7 Mile and Wyoming is in Wayne County
