I'm alone in Denver and need Contact (living, business)

I came to Denver last year to form a partnership and the arrangement fell through. I moved here and decided to start anew. So far, connecting
with groups or persons have been sparse. I'm looking for organizations or persons to connect with.
It may be my background that's incompatible since I lived on Pacific Islands most of my life, making a living from the sea - and Denver is certainly NOT Oceanic Society.
At any rate, I'm constructing a documentary film I made and organizing my photographs and renderings for future lectures. This lifestyle keeps me from associating with anyone, aside from business personnel.
I also mingled with the "wharf-rats" and "drifters" while sailing among the island routes, and enjoyed their company as well.
If there is an open minded group or individual who has a rapport to my peculiarity, I would welcome the company. Denver must hold a few people like me.

I learn a lot about business opportunities at the chamber of commerce.

I make friends volunteering at charity races/walks/runs, fundraisers...
