Excellent, I hate having two stickers on the car, and I hate that the inspection station never lets me put the sticker on myself and they never clean the old one off very well when they put the new one on.

I hate having two stickers too. And, like you, I also hate (the thought of) looking at two stickers installed over left-behind adhesive junk or two misapplied uneven stickers. I guess you might call me a neat freak when it comes to that sort of thing.

I have always had my vehicles inspected by some place (and someone) that will let me clean the windshield using Goof-Off, after he removes the old stickers, to make sure the glass is clean of any old sticker residue. And I have been lucky to have that person carefully place the sticker exactly where I want it - and equally important, to have him install the registration sticker perfectly aligned above the inspection sticker.

Re: Glue on the windshield and sticker not removed completely or properly. You just need to find an inspection place with a more conscientious/concerned attendant... they are out there although not as common, unfortunately.
