Moving to area in a couple months. I'm looking for a 1-2 bedroom single family home. 1 male 47 years. I am willing to consider anything within 20 miles of Bridgeport.

What is your budget? 1 bedroom homes are rare- 2 bedroom smaller older homes can be found in surround towns within 20 miles of Bridgeport.

Perhaps you can elaborate more on all your needs.

A 2 bedroom smaller older home is what I would prefer. I currently rent a 2 br 900 square foot home. It's in an older but well maintained area and I would like to find something similar or slightly larger. Rent in the mid-range for the area. Second bedroom used as office/computer room.

It would be easier to know that your budget would be- we could then begin to direct you to specific towns.

You could start with Bridgeport itself. There are many nice neighborhoods with homes you describe. I would recommend the North End or Black Rock. Consider the area north of North Avenue and west of Main Street which is the core of the North End. You have to be a little careful if you go east of Main Street. In Black Rock try to stay west of Brewster Street if possible.

Another option would be neighboring Stratford or even Milford. Neighboring towns of Fairfield, Easton, Shelton and Trumbull can be pricey but are very nice too. Some more information on price would help. Jay

Not really knowing what housing costs are in that area it is hard to say a price. $1000.00-1200.00?? Where I live now that will get a newer large home. I Understand that housing costs are higher there. I currently pay $650.00 for an older small 2 bedroom.

I think that's going to be a bit difficult for a single family home. You probably would want to look in Derby, Ansonia, and Seymour which are north of Bridgeport along the Rte.8 corridor. West Haven, which is east of Bridgeport, may be worth looking at also. Good luck.

Good suggestions. Ansonia and Derby are are safer alternatives about 15 minutes north. Black Rock is also another decent area you should consider.

If 1000.00-1200.00 is to little for a small 2 bedroom what would be the price range to expect? 1500.00-1800.00??
