Just change the 3 letter station code in the link to see other stations. (BDL, NYC, BOS, PVD, ect, ect)

Islip goes from a Record 64°(26 above norm) to a record 9.8" snowfall to record low of 0°(27 below norm) within 2wks

Here is Bridgeport's data. Similar. Goes from 50s & 60° to snow to below zero within 2wks time

Last year Islip had their 5th coldest daytime temp for February. Yesterday they had their coldest not passing 13°! Shattering previous record of 17.

For Bridgeport only 1 year had a colder Low Max than yesterday.

Rare to experience a cold day AND SUNNY without a deep snowpack as well.. for February.

Looking at BDR apparently I never experienced a cold day like yesterday in February. Nobody under 58 yrs old has

Snow is already in NJ. Should start after lunch in CT. Snowy morning in the Mid Atlantic. Sleet and Ice in NC. Warmer air aloft moving north!

Mid Level Temps. It's still COLD above our heads so that's why snow will fall first. But all that warm south air will filter in and start the changeover. Ugh! RAIN with frozen grounds is HORRIBLE!

I noticed that NWS has just an inch of snow now for everyone but kept the Winter Weather Advisory for all because of freezing rain potential tonight until projected full changeover by midnight

As usual the precip starting sooner. Why is that?? Fronts stall and move slow getting to us but precip moves faster? Hmmm. NW flow vs SW flow?? Less resistance to warm Southerly flow?

Anyway .... Virga approaching NYC area now but the heavier snows are still down in Maryland.

I see a lot of 4-6" fresh snowfall reports in Virginia and Maryland.. Doesn't look like its changing there yet.

I wonder if we can actually get a nice 3-5" snowstorm out of this before the changeover like they are down there.

Latest GFS for Danbury.

5 more precip events next 2 weeks including today. Some a non event.

I am watching that one on February 26th time frame. Everytime I check its showing a snowstorm. Looks juicy too! Over an inch qpf?

But notice something this week.

We had Polar Air this past weekend and dry.
Storm moves in with warm air and snow goes to Rain
Arctic air comes back Thurs-Friday and dry
Storm moves in with warm air and drizzle

Where do you see that? NWS has 2-4" for nearly all of inland southern CT.

I had only been looking at the coast except for central Westchester/White Plains area. So I looked at their forecasts for NYC, White Plains, Bridgeport, and New London. But I also looked at all the Winter Weather Advisories and they all said "up to an inch" which kind of surprised me. It would make sense that more would fall north/inland.

Use the "Most Likely" map. Looks like they went up for inland areas
