One thing that I miss about my old PC was the ability to create labels with the Word program. Didn't Apple think about these things when they designed the mac? My Dad's new Microsoft PC is worthless since it doesn't come with any of the neat Word programs that my old PC had.

Use Word?

Neither Apple nor any PC manufacturer ship with all the software you'd ever need or want.

Did your iMac come with a utility called Contacts ? My mini Mac did. With it you can print labels as good or better than Word.

Launch "Contacts", create a Card with address, select Print, panel will come up to select Label, Envelope, etc (under Style), label size, Avery#, etc

Not a general purpose solution, but a really nice idea if the OP is just trying to print a few address labels.

When you buy packaged labels from a store, you can download a free Word template from the manufacturer's web site that is formatted precisely for those labels.

Templates | Address Labels | Avery

True.
If OP is doing a mass mailing, then he may want to download the free OpenOffice suite of programs that work like Word and Excel to print labels from a spreadsheet of addresses.

I use OO for my Xmas list.
