I'm new to town. Is there a pumpkin patch that I can go to? I'm not interested in going to a church and getting one from their lot.

Hoping to find a place where you go out and pick your own.

Where I came from there was a cool place that took you out on a tractor. The tractor pulled the trailer full of people. It was a nice experience.

I'm on the north end of town in Powell.

Thanks!!

There are others, but this is one I've been to. It's about 40 minutes east of Columbus, a nice drive on an autumn day:

Pigeon Roost Farm and Great Pumpkin Fun Center in Hebron, Ohio

Lynd's usually has good pumpkins, but I haven't made it out there yet. We usually combine it with pick your own apples. You may also want to look into Corn Mazes where you can do all kinds of fun rural agritainment activities while picking your pumpkin. I think there is one in Plain City.

Also Young's Dairy Farm in Yellow Springs is really cool. It is about an hour west of Columbus. They do the tractor back to the patch just like you were talking about.

You could also go the Circleville Pumpkin Show. It starts tomorrow and runs through Saturday. Not a pumpkin patch, but you can buy pumpkins there. Saturday night, they will basically give away whatever doesn't sell.

On the way there, there is an actual pumpkin patch at Rennicks Farm Market on 23 South just before you go through South Bloomfield.

When we lived in Columbus, I loved going to Pigeon Roost Farm. Some of my favorite scrapbook pages from my boys' younger days were taken there. Great way to spend a fall afternoon.

We went to Pigeon Roost last week- that will definitely be a yearly tradition for us. Our whole family really enjoyed it!

Don't do that. It will be the biggest waste of time you'll ever experience.
