Hi, I have friends who are looking for a reasonably priced vacation rental (by the week), with accommodations for 2. The rates at a place they'd stayed in the past are MUCH higher....so might that be an indication that summer tourism is still strong around Rocky Mt. N. Park? Due to the economy and how prices on many things have softened in our area, they were suprised to see the steep increase in rates.

Do you have any suggestions for towns/areas near Rocky Mtn. where they might find better rental prices?

Thanks!

Hi Joe, tourism is still strong in RMNP despite the economy. It is an easily accessible national park and many people are taking driving vacations.
You did not say where your friends were looking for lodging. The two places that most people stay are in Estes Park on the east side and Grand Lake on the west side. There is lots of info here for Estes Park lodging: Estes Park Lodging, Estes Park Accommodation, Estes Park CO Lodging
For Grand Lake: Grand Lake, CO - Lodging
If the rates are too steep, they could stay in Longmont if they don't mind driving ~30 miles. There are many chain hotels there.
