It just makes sense to locate at the hub where all the transportation spokes meet. It broadens your prospective employment pool. I'm sure it helps that downtown has really tidied up. If anyone remembers what downtown was like from, say, the late 70s through the late 80s/early 90s, one can't blame a lot of corporations for setting up shop elsewhere.

It's great news for Chicago. The down side though is that their suburban office is 700,000 sq ft. This one is just under 200,000 sq ft so you have to think that some relocation or layoffs are coming. Either way for the city it's great news.
