I moved into a new place and signed up for People's Gas. I got an email that I would not need anyone to come out to my new place to read the gas meter, and that they would estimate my gas usage. Does this mean that my bill at the end of the month will not be my actual usage? How can they estimate my usage? Is it based on what the last occupants used? Surely it would be different for me based on my hot water and stove/oven usage. Can I request someone to come out and read the meter at the end of the month?
