realtor search (short sales, foreclosures, home search)

we are in a realtor search to start on our home search, some one that can guide us in the process as our time estimation is within 1 year (so patience is needed.)

we want someone who:
- understands the value of possible gentrification, we are ok to be in areas that slow right now due to economy. (we would like to avoid places like LP...)

- after some discussions with fellow cd's here; we are open to north side as well the south side if the area has potentials too

- we want a multi unit, preferably 3 unit. with ideas to fix up as time progress. (we intend to stay at the places we live for along time)
-is open to short sales (we understand the length of the bidding process) and foreclosures (would be very helpful to know this!)

I am a planner who has deep roots within chicago, I understand the areas etc so possibly could make the job easier (or maybe not?).
