I am considering buying a house in Hanover Park, IL and wanted to know if anyone knows what kind of area it is. Or if there is some website I can find that information on. Thanks.

Its next to Carol Stream, which is pretty decent, and Bloomingdale, which is really nice. Bartlett also borders it in areas, and Bartlett is also a nice town. As for Hanover Park itself, its drab with alot of older homes, many of which have been taken over by low-income familes of many different ethnicities (mainly Hispanic, some Polish, some Indian, some Middle Easterners). Thats not a bad thing, but some people might not like that. Id suggest Bartlett over HP any day of the week.

Same goes for Streamwood. Yes the houses are cheaper in Hanover Park and Streamwood, but a quick trip through each town and youll see why. Theyre old and those towns dont have any flavor whatsoever, which is quite strange for a Chicagoland area suburb. They dont even have downtowns, theyre just expanses of old homes with small lots and not much to do other than go to the many boring strip malls.

Thumbs up Hanover Park

I live in Hanover Park and have for the past 10 years. I live in a single-family home and have never had any issues at all. It has been a safe environment for myself and my family.

Some of the homes are older but it is convenient and the schools are excellent.

Best of luck.

There is a section of Hanover Park on the border or Schaumburg that is nice. It is at Weathersfield/Barrington/Yorkshire/Walnut. Of course the ghetto townhouse setting is right there a couple blocks away. But if you are looking at price, Schaumburg would likely be the most expensive, and the ghetto people don't typically come and hang out over in the nice area.

Also someone for some reason linked to the town of Hanover above... Hanover is on the other side of the state.

Check the school district. If you are Schaumburg Elem Dist 54 it's OK, if you are U-46, meh-very mediocre.
