I have to take my mom this week to retake the written and driving portion of the test. She has no blemishes on her driving record, but since she will be
78, I think they make her take it again.

Does anyone know what's on the actual road test for seniors? I am going to make her practice uphill/downhill parking, but I'm not sure what else they would test her on.

I would contact the Schaumburg office, or go to the web site and see what it says.

I do believe that at a certain age, they test yearly. I know my MIL complains about doing it. and she's mid-70's

I would imagine the road test for seniors is the same test that one takes when one first gets a license.

" * Drivers age 81 through 86 are issued licenses good for two years.
* Drivers age 87 and older must renew their licenses each year.

Test Requirements

* Vision screening is mandatory.
* All persons age 75 and over must take a driving test.
* Everyone must take a written test every eight years except those having no traffic convictions. If you have an accident involvement recorded on your driving record, you may be required to take the written and/or road exams."

"when i die, i want to go peacefully like my grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car" Unknown

Where will she be driving and when, that's what we want to know.

She passed! The driving portion wasnt' bad. She said the guy made her feel comfortable and wasn't the "typical" DMV employee. Although, I have noticed that the people who work at the Schaumburg DMV are much nicer than the Elston one.

So they made her drive around and she just had to explain how she would uphill/downhill park. She didn't have to do it.
