Congrats to Joliet and to Illinois for this major new investment coming via Lion Electric out of Canada who will build electric vehicles and employ 750!
As noted at the article linked below, there is a potential for battery production to also be added at the new plant later.
Joliet is the 4th largest city in Illinois and anchors the southwest edge of metro Chicago from it's location astride the Will and Kendall County line.

Interesting--with this in Joliet and Rivian in Normal, it appears that Illinois is benefiting quite a bit with EV production. I'd love to see some notable EV startups HQ'd in the state in addition to these production facilities.

Of course, without charging stations, EVs won't go far. Fortunately a Charging station firm has located in Libertyville.https://news.evbox.com/en-WW/186164-...ide-chicago-il

Obviously there will be more EV charging stations as demand for EVs grow. But, in the Chicago area at least, there are many Tesla charging stations. Other EVs can use them if they purchase an adapter from what I have read. Likewise, for a Tesla to charge at a non-Tesla station you need an adapter.
