Default Big Timber is closest...

The current "end of the line" for Metra passenger service on the Milwauakke District -West line is the Big Timber Rd stop in Elgin. That several miles from the center of Huntley. I do not beleive there are any buses that link the two, you migh be able to arrange for a taxi...

And the UPNW train out of Crystal Lake/ Woodstock will take you to the Oglivie Transportation Center, three blocks north of the Union Station. Then, you can walk down Canal St. or cross Madison St. and walk underground.

Metra "should" be looking to expand milwaukee west as it's the same line amtrak is going to be using to go to rockford starting next year.

I believe metra's long term goals are to have milwaukee west go to rockford and amtrak going to galena/iowa. oh wait, that'd make sense....

Metra won't extend service to Rockford until Boone and Winnebago counties join, and pay taxes to, the agency.
