I mean I know it's like the 30th richest town in Illinois but how rich is the town as a whole???

It's affluent, but not live on a large estate and own a private jet affluent. Most of the houses there are quite modest and from the early 20th century, though quite expensive in the sense of dollars per square foot. There are some mansions too, but they are not the dominant housing type by any means.

its a nice area, however if you didn't know about it just driving through it probably wouldn't jump out at you as being an affluent burb as your kind of paying for the location so homes are more modest vs say an area like barrington or st charles where you may have hte same home price but its on an acre or two and a mcmansion.

Even the older homes in many parts of Rover Forest have extremely broad lawns, obviously expensive details of construction and other features that pretty clearly demonstrate affleunce. These features are less prevelant in areas closer to the through streets but even then the style of street lights / signage / sidewalks pretty clearly separates the town from its more humble neighbors...

Quite a few of the properties on Thatcher and Keystone Ave have surprisingly large lots for an inner suburb.
