Living: Neighbors get warm welcome at Belleau Woods

By Hannah Campbell
Community News Writer
The children who live in Belleau Woods, out past Jenkins Road, ride their bikes and skateboards around in packs until dark. They play basketball in their driveways and go swimming in each other's swimming pools.
"There's always something going on," said two-year homeowner Camille Platt, a member and volunteer of the neighborhood association.
In the coming months Belleau Woods residents can look forward to community-wide yard sales, parades for the kids and cookouts with homemade ice cream.

We just rented a house off Jenkins Rd. (Old Britain Cr) is that out that way? Cause my 11 yo son is majorly social and is freaking out bad about this move. He's afraid of losing his friends and not making other friends as good as the ones he has now. They've all been together for yrs. I hope our neighborhood area is friendly. Any one know about it?

Financelife & luvshelties, I may soon be your neighbor in East Brainerd. We have a contract to purchase a home in the Jenkins Rd. area. The neighborhood is called Royal Oaks, and is quite unique because it's full of early 60's California-style modern homes, many painted in lovely pastels. You actually feel like you are in Florida because the subdivision's builder planted a bunch of pines. It's pretty cool, but really mixed, as some of the homes are a bit run down, others are really nice, and the homes are varying in square footage. Does anyone know anything more about Royal Oaks?
