Can anyone tell me what the commute to uptown is during rush hour AM and PM, from Mint Hill or Matthews? Also, there's a development called Cameron Wood (off Park Rd) -- any idea what the commute would be from there?

We drove around these areas and traffic didn't seem too bad, but that was in the afternoon and I've heard things are much different during rush hour.

Thanks!

From Park Rd you park at a Lynx park and ride and ride the light rail uptown which takes about 20 minutes. You can do the same from Mint Hill and Matthews, but you would have to drive to 485 and South Blvd to park and ride. It's nice because you save gas, wear and tear, and you can read/sleep on there. Cameron Woods seems to be in a nice area but it is a high traffic area around there.

Cameron Woods-The commute will depend on what time you are in the car back and forth. Park Road is not that bad. It gets kind of jammed up leading up to the Woodlawn intersection but moves. My fiance makes it from Pineville to downtown in 25 minutes at 7am every weekday taking Park Rd. as her route.

Many friends lived or are still living in the neighborhood and enjoy it very much.

I would allow 45 minutes from Matthews/Mint Hill to Uptown and from Cameron Woods I would allow about 25-30.

Depends on what time of the day.

I support your response GROOVE1, I am 1000% for Light Rail!

Good luck with the light rail - it's great if you work close to a rail stop in uptown... I work off Graham with no easy way to get from rail to work if I lived on the rail.

Depends where on Graham St. It is just a short stroll over from College St to Graham St, but if you are North of I-277 (on Graham St.) that is a different story.
