Currently looking into relocating to the Summerville area. I have an eighth grader who will be starting high school in the fall 2016 and is on a travel ice hockey team at the moment we are interested in some information with some great high school hockey. Any thoughts?
I do not believe there is a High School hockey team in SC but do contact the Carolina Ice Palace, North Charleston (Google it) for info on hockey leagues.
There is high school hockey in South Carolina but it may not be 'great'...just fun, especially if your child plays at the travel level. It will be a club team and not all schools will offer a team BUT I suspect that if your child's school does not have a high school team he could probably play for the closest high school. That's how it worked when my son was in that age group.
First time I came to Charleston was with my son's travel hockey team -- that's why we are here. Hockey is not big in the south but hockey does live in the south
