Vet can't figure out what is happening - wondering if anyone else experienced this. Cat had diarrhea & really strong smelling urine & had lost appetite for a couple days.

Tests show high to very creatine and Bun BUT normal phosphorous and no elevated WBC or fever.

Cat is on antibiotic anyway for the diarrhea - incase that was caused by infection - but vet isn't sure she can make a positive diagnosis for kidney disease and says wait before changing out food because it could be she was just dehydrated.
Appetite seems better after the stimulant but here we are - awaiting now a urine test to measure concentration level

Anyone have a CRF cat with NORMAL phosphorous?

Should also say another cat rescued about a year ago has had bouts of diarrhea consistently since being brought in & a couple bouts with conjunctive itis- her initial check showed no worms or other contagious disease & was given a dewormer anyhow, but otherwise has been fine so we think its just a form of IBS with her but now wondering if she could have had some kind of bacterial infection that got passed in the liter box.

Sure, it doesn't automatically follow that a CKD cat will have elevated phosphorus. How old is kitty? Any chance she got into something toxic?
