I have limited options to ten cities. I have focused on towns and cities that closely resemble California's idealic beach culture -surfing, boogieboarding, beach volleyball, kitesurfing, beach cruisers.. (etc)

Please leave a comment detailing why you picked the most quintessential CA beach town..

(IF NOT LISTED ABOVE.. write in below..)

Qualities(for me..)

>A Pier
>Good Waves(of course!)
>Downtown area
>Shorts and sandals
>Beach Bonfires
>Laid-back vibe
>Plenty of surf shops
>An oceanfront bike path

For these reasons I must pick Huntington Beach for #1. (Although, Santa Cruz is quite up there..)

You didn't mention two of my favorites - Laguna Beach and Seal Beach - Seal Beach especially is the quintessential beach town.

I said Mission because LA beaches do nothing for me....beach culture to me personally is SD.
