Gliding the Fresno foothills
No need to drive up to Yosemite or to the beach for some nice gliding

40+ mph windgusts in Sacramento
A foot of rain in parts of SoCal(mudslides?)
However, Fresno and Bakersfield will get spared from the upcoming weather madness. I'll have a big weather update once the rain finishes up. Stay safe everyone

70f/56f today in Fresno
Lovely stuff

Ran some numbers for this winter

Average high temps for Fresno this winter
63f for December!!!!
58.6 for January(low temps were nicer than high temps in January, but it was still nice, all things considered)
December and January this winter were like something you'd see in Austin Texas! Impressive.

Read an article today about Fresno planning. The city is looking at setting up a BRT system for public transit right now. If the BRT ends up being a success. they will start working on a light rail system immediately!

Fair prices for Fresno compared to other Sunbelt cities.

Flint Michigan, eek.

San diego vs Stockton prices. Wow.
Metro San Diego is half the cost of San Jose per sqft! SD looking like a steal, especially homes away from the coast.

Metro price per sqft

Lots in some California metros cost less per square foot than the state’s average of $85.60, including:

Bakersfield, which costs $38.87 per square foot;
Fresno, which costs $46.59 per square foot;
Riverside, which costs $68.87 per square foot;
Sacramento, which costs $74.30 per square foot; and
Stockton, which costs $85.59 per square foot.
But some California metros ranked higher than the state’s average, including:

San Diego, which costs $111.15 per square foot;
Los Angeles, which costs $156.46 per square foot;
San Francisco, which costs $190.25 per square foot; and
San Jose, which costs $235.13 per square foot.
In fact, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Jose are the most expensive three metros in the U.S., as illustrated on Angi’s infographic.

San Diego was the California metro with the largest median lot size, at 9,971 square feet. San Francisco’s median lot size was the smallest, at 6,098 square feet.

Austin 30 year average temperatures
December: 63f
January: 61f
So Fresnos December was at the average and January was a little below average. As for this winter, Austin was warmer than Fresno in December, but Fresno was likely warmer in January.

Exceptional amount of precipitation to fall on California in form of coastal rain and heavy mountain snow over the next 7-days. [> 10 Trillion gallons]

LAX over 6-inches with over a foot of rain at higher elevations.

4" in San Francisco and Sacramento
10-feet of snow in Sierra

Commissioner Paul Hinkle obliquely referenced state affordable housing requirements that Clovis has failed to meet.

“One thing we as citizens of Clovis need to be very concerned about is what’s going on in Sacramento,” he said. “A lot of pressures are being put on the city of Clovis to meet their demands.”

More apartments coming to Clovis. Ofc Clovis people aren't happy. Too bad.

If you haven't heard, Boise had a mild December. Let's take a look at some data
Average December Boise temp in 2023: 42.4f

20+ below monthly Fresno December(63f)

Warmest December day in Boise=61f. Not bad.

Coldest Anaheim day in December=60f
Yeah, not as mild as people like to lead on.

I used Anaheim cause Boise fanboys love OC comparison's.

Look at data and visit before you leave out of state. Don't just take people's words. Lots of charlatan agents/brokers out there. Doesn't matter if it's Texas, Idaho, Utah, Florida, or wherever. Do some research.

Rare winter thunderstorm in Fresno today.

Good investment property in Fresno.
Not the best neighborhood, but there's potential for gentrification there.

312k price!
Almost a complete remodel

This is what they're going to build in Fresno. I hope it gets done soon.
Better public transit means more condos, apartments, and less strip malls(they'll demolish old ones). Everyone should be for it.
Tbh, i kinda like small strip malls.
but most massive strip malls need to go away. They're relics of a bygone era.

60-70mph wind possible in the Sacramento valley and northern San Joaquin valley on Sunday. The ground is already soaked in NorCal, so expect issues up there.

A Texas government official rebutted rumors Thursday that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott was set to ship busloads of asylum-seeking migrants to Fresno.

Rumors about Fresno receiving large numbers of immigrants who first crossed the U.S. border in Texas began circulating in City Hall on Thursday.

However, Seth W. Christensen, a spokesman for the Texas Division of Emergency Preparedness, told GV Wire’s David Taub that “we do not have a bus currently en route to Fresno.”

Abbott knows better

Here's another tesoro Viejo(across from north Fresno) home. It's not as nice as a toll brothers home, but they're almost there. It's close now.

40 minutes from Fresno
50 minutes from river park or Fresno state
A little over an hour from downtown Fresno.

House isn't on the market, but it might go back on again soon.

This Madera home is on the market tho
Similar drive time, but way less snow here.

89 percent of rainfall currently for fresno
Good chances of getting over 100 percent once the month is over
Bakersfield is at 154%!

Nike store opening soon in fresno(river park)

No more dreaded outlets(ew) needed.

Now, move the apple store to river park and put an ikea there as well. Theyd be printing money at river park.

I think ikea is waiting for the madera burbs to be built up, so they can pit the new madera burbs vs fresno to get the best deal possible for them. Id be surprised if they picked anywhere else other than the madera burbs or fresno for the location. the only places that make any sense.

Vote yes on measure e if you own property in north/central fresno or clovis
Itll be a boon for redevelopment in those areas. Your property values will be going up because of that.
Everybody else probably should probably vote no, tbh. Odds arent good for it passing. They should have kept the original pricetag from the last time.

Cool drone video. Shows the possible edge of fresno at 3:10

Weather update

temps in fresno and surrounding areas
December: above
January: near average

February: slightly above likely

December roasted, while January and February have been more typical of the region. Rain has been the cause of the temp drops
