Just wondering if anyone has moved from the Bay Area, CA (specifically Cupertino) to the Dallas area (Frisco). Would appreciate any comments on:

Schools compared to Cupertino schools
Real estate - was there a bubble there and how is the market now?
Safety - crime etc. compared to the South Bay area (Cupertino)
Job Market - in IT/Technology (Product or Program/Project Management)
Cost of living in general - know that property taxes are higher, utilities too (heat etc.)
Weather - were you able to take the heat?
Outdoor activities - especially distance running (marathons)
Diversity - we are Indian
Any other factors/tips

I’d be inclined to ask these questions in the Texas forum. Second, our local tribes refer to themselves as Indians. Most tribes refer to themselves as Indians.

I suspect you moved here from India. The local native populations would prefer the use of the term “east Indian” if that be the case. No offense intended.

I understand what youre saying, but Indians from India are the original people referred to as Indians. In the case of the indigenous people in the Americas, Columbus goofed.

An excerpt from Encyclopedia Brittanica:
The word Indian came to be used because Christopher Columbus repeatedly expressed the mistaken belief that he had reached the shores of South Asia. Convinced he was correct, Columbus fostered the use of the term Indios (originally, “person from the Indus valley”) to refer to the peoples of the so-called New World.

What you posted is true. In my former line of work when we had Cultural sensitivity training one of the first things the “native Americans” told us was please call us Indians. That is the preferred title. Native American is a liberal white label. Our local tribe goes by title; the MeWuk band of Indians. As a county social worker I did visit the Rez more than once.

Nobody reading this thought the OP was a Native American. No need to muddy the waters or make the OP feel misunderstood.

OP, I agree that your question should be asked on the Texas forum for the most helpful answers.
