Triple 8~Happy New Year!!!!!!!!
So it's 8/8/8 today.
Well, I have often heard that biblically the number 8 stands for "new beginnings." I'm not sure where this thought originates but so be it. I think we all tend to like new beginnings, new seasons, fresh starts etc. I do. (It's always been just one of those small pleasures of life for me to be able to turn over the page to a new month of the calendar!

Ok, I googled it. It is suggested that this is because seven days is one complete week. God designed first day of the new week to start on the eighth day. They were 8 people on Noah's ark. Jewish law required newborn boys to be circumcised on the eight day. There are possibly other examples. These are the ones I found readily, however.
So here's to 8/8/8! Celebrate the chance to start fresh!

I love new beginnings as well, and found out during the opening ceremonies of the Olympics that today's date has much meaning for China as well, and that over 16,000 wedding licenses were issued for today in the city of Beijing.Posted 08-08-2008 at 10:25 PM by aiangel_writer
