Why the heck are there no live radio stations for AA's in Iowa

Posted 10-25-2013 at 12:14 PM by DeliciaFreeman

What happened to live DJ's spinning records, speaking to the audience stating to call in to win prizes, or inform us on what is going on for the weekend....... NO what do we get recording from another state!

Unfortunately, in most places, that's where radio is going. Fewer and fewer are seeking to get into the business, and some are leaving it because they've been pushed out of jobs at the hands of corporate conglomerates. I do miss the days when radio was local, but that's just not the case anymore.

Ever since the FCC changed up the rules back in the 90's and Clear Channel started buying up radio stations left and right, there aren't many live radio stations for anyone in any part of the country. Even in the big markets on the coasts, most of the stations are following the same formats and playing the same playlists as you'll find in smaller markets in the rest of the country.
